Works I Want to Conduct
I believe a performance should serve the audience, orchestra, and composer. My programming choices will depend on the needs of the audience, theme, and institution. Below is a list of works I would want to conduct. And below that are some potential programs. Please know that I would likely create a program that suits your ensemble or institution's needs.
Thomas Adès
I personally believe this piece is the greatest work of the past so many decades. I have given lectures on it to well over one hundred students and dream of conducting it.
Programs Celebrating the Sounds of Countries

Ligeti and Mozart
Experience a dramatic musical juxtaposition bridging two centuries of mortal contemplation. This program features Mozart’s Requiem, the haunting, unfinished masterpiece filled with tender grief and dramatic, operatic intensity, paired with Ligeti’s 1965 Requiem, a terrifying and awe-inspiring sonic masterpiece of the 20th century.
-
Part I: Ligeti (The Apocalypse) – A sonic landscape of 20-part "micropolyphony," designed to evoke a "hysterical, hyperdramatic, and unrestrained" view of the end times.
-
Part II: Mozart (The Consolation) – A profoundly moving, intimate, and fiery setting of the Latin Mass, which finds eternal peace in its final moments.
